The design by Ms. Magali Metrailler was inspired by the the 1960’s Memovox ‘Polaris’, while the name referred to the signature locking mechanism for the crowns. The Master Compressor Dualmatic reference 1738470 was introduced in 2004 as a more affordable take on the Master Compressor. It is powered by the self-winding caliber 972 with second time zone function. It was discontinued in 2007.

About Jaeger-LeCoultre
Antoine LeCoultre established his watchmaking workshop in 1833. LeCoultre was a horological inventor, having developed the pinion cutting machine, and a measuring device accurate to one micron. In 1903, a watchmaker named Edmond Jaeger challenged the Swiss manufactures to mass-produce an ultra-thin movement that he had invented. LeCoultre accepted and completed the challenge. This led to a partnership between the two watchmakers, laying the foundation for the company known today as Jaeger-LeCoultre. Jaeger-LeCoultre is part of the Richemont group.
